UICheck

Feedback from clients, in the same place as the bugs

Invite your client as a free viewer: they see the site on every device, click what they want changed and write it down, and press Approve when a page is right. On the live site, a Feedback button lets anyone send a marked-up picture or a short screen recording, with what they clicked just before and their browser details. It loads after the page, so page speed and SEO stay untouched, and you can hide it from visitors and share a link with your client instead. Comments, site reports and the problems UICheck finds sit in one To fix list with status, assignee and priority, become issues in your tracker, and the page is checked again the moment one is resolved, so the client sees it before and now.

How it works

  1. 1

    They point, they write

Click or drag on the page in Review, or use the Feedback button on the live site to mark up a picture or record the screen. No account needed for site visitors.

  2. 2

    You triage one list

Assign it, set a priority, reply, or send it to Linear, Jira, GitHub or Worksynk with the picture. Select many to do it in one go.

  3. 3

    They confirm it is fixed

Resolved, or closed in your tracker? UICheck checks the page again and emails them the spot before and now; one click confirms it. Then they approve the page.

What it catches

  • “Make this bigger” with the exact spot marked
  • Browser, screen size, console errors and failed requests from site visitors
  • What the visitor clicked in the minute before, and a recording of it happening
  • Your own questions, like an order number
  • Comments that were “fixed” but look the same
  • A dated sign-off for every page
  • Who hears about what, set per project and per person

Questions

Does my client need an account?

To comment and approve in Review they join as a viewer, which is free on Prism (up to 10). The Feedback button on your site needs no account: visitors just add their name.

How does the Feedback button get on my site?

Switch the widget on in the project and paste one script tag. It works only on that project’s site. Lens has it on one project, Prism on every project, without “Powered by UICheck” when you use report branding. You choose the button’s text, its side and up to 5 questions of your own.

Will it slow my site down or affect SEO?

No. The tag loads the widget 8 seconds after the page has finished loading, so it is not part of page speed scores or Core Web Vitals, and search engines see nothing of it.

Can only my client see the button?

Yes. Set the button to Hidden in the project: visitors don’t see it, and anyone who opens a page with ?uicheck=feedback at the end of the address gets it for that browser tab. The project page has the link ready to copy.

Does the visitor have to allow screen sharing?

No. The picture is drawn from the page itself, on phones too, with no browser prompt. Only a screen recording asks for permission.

Who gets emailed about new feedback?

Each person picks it per project: new site reports, comments, replies, status changes, assignments and sign-offs. People mentioned or assigned always hear about it, and nobody gets an email for their own actions.

What does a site report contain?

The comment, a picture of what the visitor saw with their marks (they can blur anything private), the page address, browser, system, window size, console errors and failed requests, what they clicked and which pages they opened in the minute before (never what they typed), and answers to your own questions. On Prism, visitors can also record their screen for up to a minute. UICheck also checks that page at their screen size.
